The correct answer was four (4)

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

In the one week since reaching out to all the Mikes, only four (16%) have accepted my request to connect.

Each Mike to connect with Mike has recieved reccomendations from Mike for the hard work Mike has done.

Each new Mike will receive the same treatment.

Seeing how most people don’t check their LinkedIn often, I have faith that more Mikes will receive Mike’s invitation to connect with Mike.

I only hope if notifications go out to Mike’s other connections, it might inform them them about the recommendations Mike has received from Mike.... then everyone who sees it will wonder if LinkedIn is now allowing self-recommendations.

I also hope that if one of the other Mikes shows up in one of the Mike’s suggested contacts, that it will display that Mike might know Mike because they have Mike as a shared connection.

What I’m hoping for here is for a few of them to accept.

Then as they are looking through the “people they might know” find other Mikes and learn that they are all linked through me

Or is it them?

“You may know you because you are linked to you by you.”

I had a friend that lived two doors up from me in grade school.

They lived there for three years, and moved away in 1981.

Never heard from each other again.

He just reached out to me last week via LinkedIn.

0-8.

There’s only one other person with my name in this country, maybe the world. I half want to join twitter to tweet at him “There can be only one”

My real name is so unique, there is only one other - my grandfather.

Am almost tempted to recommend them for everything LinkedIn suggests, then have their other connections wonder how Mike recommended himself for all those skills.

I have one connection BTW. Challenge 4% complete.

About 10 years ago, a canadian guy with the same name as me made a website with a list of the websites of the 25 or so people who had the same name (and a web presence). I should check back in on that.

One of the guys that connected with me this week used to work at the same agency as I did about 10 years ago.

I used to get his email at least once a month (usually financial spreadsheets for his approval), and would reply all, asking him if he could take a look at it for me. I sometimes wrote him afterwards, asking if I had any messages.

I don’t think he got the joke.

I think this is a terrible abuse of LinkedIn. It’s only for, like, super serious business use.

But then again, my profile strength is ‘All Star’. Get on my level or step off.
